Horizon 2020 has come to Ireland!

On Tuesday 10th December 2013, the launch of Horizon 2020, the European Union’s new €70 billion programme for research and innovation to create new growth and jobs in Europe, took place.

Hosted by Enterprise Ireland, the event was held from 10am until 1pm in the Convention Centre, Dublin 1.

Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, EU Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science and Sean Sherlock T.D. Minister for Research & Innovation outlined the opportunities Horizon 2020 offers to industry and academic researchers in Ireland.

This event provided an opportunity for newcomers to EU research and innovation programmes to meet and exchange contact details with Ireland’s European Advisors, the first point of contact when accessing Horizon 2020. Attendees learned how to participate in this European programme to deliver excellent science, competitive industry and a better society for Ireland.
