Symposium Restating the Value of the Humanities in Contemporary Contexts

The Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences, in collaboration with An Foras Feasa (The Institute for Research in Irish Historical and Cultural Traditions), is holding a one-day symposium entitled “Restating the Value of the Humanities in Contemporary Contexts” at the National University of Ireland Maynooth on Friday, 27th April 2012. This symposium is envisaged as the first in a series of such events in the humanities and social sciences. It presents an excellent opportunity for Irish and international researchers to reflect on current developments, changes and evolutions within and across humanities disciplines. The choice of panels (which includes sessions on the public humanities, emerging and converging disciplines and a forum for early-career researchers) is intended to reflect current issues of relevance to the humanities community. To view the programme, please click here.
