Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting Award
The Irish Research Council is pleased to announce that it will sponsor up to 5 talented young researchers to attend the 5th Lindau Meeting on Economic Sciences. The meeting will be held from 19th – 23rd August 2014 on the isle of Lindau, situated on Lake Constance in south Germany (www.lindau-nobel.org). This is the second year that the Irish Research Council has participated in the prestigious Lindau Meeting Award. The President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, is Patron of the initiative.
The 5th Lindau Meeting on Economic Sciences will provide an open exchange of economic expertise and inspire cross-cultural and inter-generational encounters among economists from all over the world. The world economic and financial crisis will be a central theme between the laureates and the young participants, with the global central banking system or the challenges to the international free trade also likely to be main discussion topics. Up to 450 young economists (graduate, post-doctoral students and young professionals) will attend the meeting and participate in lectures, round table discussions and special discussion sessions.
